Making Your Mark 02 - Falling Short of Your Potential
Monday Jun 12, 2023
Monday Jun 12, 2023
Part two of our study on John Mark will bring us to his fateful decision to abandon his assignment to assist Barnabas and Paul on their mission. This serves to remind us that we will have moments when we fall short in the pursuit of our potential. It is important that we learn from this how to avoid making excuses, keep walking with the Lord and realize that we can still fulfill our purpose. Christ power actually works greater in our weaknesses and there is every reason to remain hopeful for our future!

Making Your Mark 01 - Realizing Your Potential
Monday Jun 05, 2023
Monday Jun 05, 2023
We begin a new study, examining the backstory of John Mark. He is mentioned about a dozen times in the New Testament but we don’t know very much about him. However, his story has a lot to reveal about stewarding the potential that each of us have to make an impact in this world. Eventually “Mark” (as he becomes known) fulfills a significant part of his potential by writing the first gospel – The Gospel of Mark. But his path to get there has a lot to teach us about our potential and making our own mark in life.

Ruth 05 - Counting the Cost
Wednesday May 31, 2023
Wednesday May 31, 2023
This week we wrap up our study in Ruth. Chapter 4 details the actions of Boaz to be the family redeemer, restoring life and hope to Naomi’s family. As we see Boaz’s example, our eyes will be drawn to One who has been standing in the background of this story all along. One who is a greater go’el (family redeemer)! We will end our study with a high note of praise to Jesus Christ for counting the cost of our redemption and His willing sacrifice to pay the price.

Ruth 03 - It’s a God Thing
Monday May 15, 2023
Monday May 15, 2023
Week 3 in our Ruth study brings us to chapter 2 and we will explore the glory of God’s providential work in our life. The phrase “and as it happened” is a wonderful God-wink that draws our attention to how “coincidences” are far more than that – they reveal a pattern of God working in the details of our lives. We need to sharpen our focus and give God the credit for the detail work He is doing to direct our lives toward our greater good and His glory.
